Vertical Check Valve

A vertical check valve is used to prevent the flow of water from one pipe to another. This type of check valve is placed in the pipeline at a location where it is necessary for the flow of water to be stopped.

Vertical Check Valve design

A vertical check valve has two ports which are connected with pipes or tubes. One of these ports is attached to a pipe or tube which leads to the environment and the other connects with another pipe or tube which leads to another part of your plumbing system.

Vertical Check Valve application

A vertical check valve is typically used in a cooling system and is designed to help prevent the back flow of coolant. A vertical check valve works by blocking the flow of fluid when pressure in one direction overcomes the spring tension on the valve.

Main types of Vertical Check Valves

There are two main types of vertical check valves: ball-type and spring-loaded float. The ball-type valve uses a ball with holes drilled into it, while the float type uses a float attached to a rod that opens when pressure is applied. Both types typically feature a rubber seat to seal against, which allows them to function properly even under high pressures.
